This public transport junction point in Buda for the most part can be compared to the Alexanderplatz in Berlin, since it is just as ugly and chaotic, yet is still the most important and popular meeting spots and centre of the town as its German neighbour. The so-called "red line" (Metro line 2) was built with some delay, carrying its passengers from Moszkva square since 1972 only, when the square's notorious metro station, the concrete-glass constellation was built. Its rebuilding process has been planned for years, perhaps with the renovation of the metro line, there may be some improvements. The escalator leading down to the metro station is one of the longest such structure in the whole world. In the different time periods of the day, the masses of people come and go; earliest are the black market workers, then the different religious and political groups come, then in the early evening time the various charity service organizations arrive along with the hungry homeless folks. We may get the best picture of the mood of the square if we stand under the clock in the centre of the square and take some time to observe our surroundings.
