On the Buda side, as if guarding the baths once founded by the invading Turks, is the tomb (or Türbe) of Gül Baba. The Dervish meaning of Gül Baba literally translates to "Father of Roses", who, according to the legend, always wore a rose on his turban. After seizing the Buda Castle, he died during a religious thanksgiving ceremony held in the Matthias Church. The Turkish styled memorial is in itself a unique spectacle, but could also be part of a light tour of the Rosehill (Rózsadomb) through the narrow and quite streets of Buda. The terrace of the tomb offers a magnificent view over Budapest. A museum accompanies the tomb, where prayer carpets, replicas of the Koran and other Muslim objects of devotion are on display.
