The Ludwig Museum is in the same building as the Palace of Arts & Culture. With 3 floors of galleries divided between the permanent collection and special exhibits. The gallery floors are spacious, light and airy. The lobby has a great bookstore with a wide range of art books, about half in Hungarian but a variety of books in other languages as well, some small books specialising in areas of Budapest's unique art and architecture history are of particular interest. The permanent collection while not the largest in the world has a wide range of artists, there are famous world names here but the core of the collection is Hungarian, there is a good variety of media as well ranging from traditional paint on canvas through sculpture & photography to Multimedia installations.
