A glance behind the iron curtain. The political change of 1990 was followed by the removal of many of the statues from the streets of Budapest. This collection of statues from the communist cultural politics era is unique worldwide and is Eastern Europe's most exciting outdoor museums. In its park you will find the statues of Lenin, Marx and Engels, Dimitrov, Ostapenko, the Soviet soldier, the Communist Martyrs, the Republic of Councils and many more artefacts of the time. Travel back in time to the era of comrades, Trabants (East German cars), cheap bread and expensive silence. Direct buses from the centre of town take the visitors to the park.
